“Something To Aim At” – Inspiration for William Fotheringham’s book about Tom Simpson

In the firstpart of his book , William Fotheringham writes about what inspired him to write his Tom Simpson biography. A keen cyclist and sport journalist himself, Fotheringham went to see a screening of the film biography ‘Something To Aim At’ at London’s Riverside  studios. The film that was shown, plus the discussion that followed the screening, made him more curious about Tom Simpson’s legacy, about his life as well as his tragic death, that was for many one of the first stories they heard about cycle racing.

The Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London are still a busy cinema with a good alternative program.

‘Something To Aim At’, the film that inspired Fotheringham, can be bought here.
