Welcome London’s Olympic Velodrome! Who and what will it inspire?

Today London welcomes the new Olympic Velodrome, a stunning location by the looks of the first pictures and the comments of those who were lucky enough to get a sneak preview. The Sunday Times called it ‘one hell of a good building’, and it’s shape has been described as ‘a giant Pringle crisp’. To me it looks like it could easily be the setting of a James Bond movie, and I actually hope that it will be an inspiration not only for cyclists, but also for writers, directors and other artists. The first joy now will be to read the newspapers comments about the Velodrome, so please post any fine or even literary comment about the new velodrome that you find online or off-line.

The BBC has published a great line of pictures, which you can find here!
